About Our Facility:
The Women’s Resource Center is a warm and friendly
facility where students come together
for resources, conversation,
and quiet study space.
The facility serves as a location for seminars, workshops, training sessions, meetings, and dissertation defenses. We offer a private conference room, spacious lounge area, kitchen facility, and a resource library. Please call (970) 351-1492 to reserve a meeting time. We are eager to share our facility with you.
United Sisters:
United Sisters is a social, educational and community service oriented group that is open to all women. It’s a group that gets together to have a good time, support each other and learn all at the same time! We meet Mondays from 4-5pm at the WRC. Contact Yvette Lucero with questions. Everyone is welcome!
History:
Scott-Willcoxon was completed in October 1999 amidst the central campus renovation. A student referendum provided part of the funding for the facility. The building was named after Dr. Nancy A. Scott and Marcia M. Willcoxon. Scott served as Vice-President for Student Affairs from 1984-1995 and was involved in Student Affairs and women’s issues on a national level in addition to her dedicated work on campus. Willcoxon is credited for creating the Women’s Studies program while a faculty member in 1974. At that time, it was only one of three in the country.
