Police Services

The University Police Department is responsible for law enforcement, criminal investigation, public safety, security, traffic control and emergency response at Women Using emergency polethe University of Northern Colorado. The primary office is in Gray Hall on central campus. Our department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to serve the University Community.

THE UNC POLICE DEPARTMENT IS A FULL SERVICE POLICE AGENCY WITH FULL POLICE POWERS. THE UNIVERSITY POLICE OFFICERS ARE CERTIFIED LEVEL I PEACE OFFICERS IN THE STATE OF COLORADO AND HAVE THE SAME POLICE AUTHORITY AS ALL OTHER PEACE OFFICERS IN THE STATE OF COLORADO.

To report an emergency dial 911 from any campus telephone.

The 911 calls from on-campus telephones ring directly to the UNC Police Department. Additionally, numerous well marked exterior emergency phones are located throughout campus next to main sidewalks. CLICK HERE FOR A MAP OF THE EXTERIOR CAMPUS EMERGENCY PHONES. These phones ring automatically once the receiver is lifted and an officer is dispatched to investigate, especially if no voice communication is initiated. All campus elevators have emergency call boxes that are activated by holding down a button. These also ring automatically to the University Police and are a way to summon assistance.
