Patrol Division
The University of Northern Colorado Police Department employs 13 full-time, sworn officers. Our uniformed officers respond to calls for service 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
All of our officers are statutorily defined as Level I Peace Officers in the State of Colorado. Our officers have the same authority and arrest powers as any municipal police officer or county sheriff's deputy in the state.
Along with an officer assigned to the Training and Crime Prevention Office, one officer is also assigned to Investigations. The Investigator is responsible for additional follow-up on criminal and administrative incidents.
The UNC Police Department also employs a number of Student Security Officers. These Student Officers are available for escorting students across campus after dark, checking buildings for open doors and windows after closing hours, reporting suspicious activities to the patrol officers, and providing security at special events.
The UNC Police Department has mutual aid agreements with the City of Greeley and the City of Evans. The agreement with the City of Greeley extends concurrent jurisdiction to UNC Police officers off campus.
