NHS Scholarships
Recipient shall be a full-time junior or senior majoring in Criminal justice and an active member of the Criminal Justice Society. Student must
carry a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Nearing completion of sophomore year, junior, or senior at UNC; majoring in one of the physical sciences, earth sciences, physics, chemistry; 3.0 GPA.
Colorado resident from the rural communities in the eastern counties of Adams, Arapaho, Baca, Bent, Cheyenne, Crowley, Elbert, El Paso, Huerfano, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Los Animas, Morgan, Otero, Philips, Prowers, Pueblo, Sedgwick, Washington, Weld and Yuma; female; must have completed 30 credit hours or have met minimum entrance requirements with the intention of majoring in mathematics or science.
Student in the teacher education program in the physics department with preference to women.
Junior or Senior chemistry major; demonstrate high financial need; 3.0 GPA.

Full-time junior or senior dietetics major currently employed by a UNC Residence Life Dining Services operation; have worked at least 200 hours in dining services and have a satisfactory job evaluation history; minimum 3.0 GPA; two letters of reference, verification of UNC Residence Life Dining Service employment and statement in 300 words or less regarding future career plans and why deserving of award must accompany application.
Premed major in third year of studies; 3.5 GPA.
Full-time recreation major having completed 60 credit hours; demonstrated high academic achievement; 3.0 GPA.
Full-time (12 or more credit hours); major in an area administered by the Earth Sciences Department; demonstrate commitment to the profession of student's chosen field; 3.0 GPA.
Full-time female student majoring in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics; junior or senior must have 30 semester hours at UNC with a 3.0 GPA; sophomore 3.2 GPA; freshman in top 25% of graduating class, must submit a letter of intent indicating why student wants to be a dietitian.
Criminal Justice majors who show interest in ethics, and community oriented policing and are planning law enforcement careers and/or are planning to attend graduate school in some area of criminal justice; graduating senior.
Colorado resident, independent of his or her enrollment at the University; full-time student in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Zoology and/or Botany; 3.0 GPA; receive no other scholarship at a level of $1000 or above at the time of selection.
Students accepted into the Nursing program; 3.0 GPA.
Supports a high school teacher attending the Advanced Placement chemistry teaching workshops held at UNC each summer.

Unmarried Colorado resident; senior nursing major dedicated to the care of individuals and families in need of nursing assistance; demonstrate capability to relate to patients and families of patients; good academic standing as established by faculty; agree to provide two years of service in Colorado after graduation.

Graduate from a high school located in either Moffit, Routt, Rio Blanco or Grand County (with the counties of Moffit and Routt preferred); or attained Associates Degree from Colorado North Western Community College; accepted to the nursing program; 2.75 GPA; interest in pursuing a career in a clinical setting.
Full-time student in fourth semester of the Athletic Training Program; 3.0 GPA; demonstrate a strong work ethic, sound technical judgment, and professional accuracy; demonstrate a willingness to volunteer training skills and have intent to remain in the Athletic Training profession.
Undergraduate Colorado resident; communication disorders major; demonstrating talent, ability, and future promise in field.
Weld County High School graduate with preference to the Greeley high schools; in good standing with potential for success in obtaining a nursing degree at UNC.

Senior undergraduate student in the RN program; 3.0 GPA; preference given to applicants who have participated in the National Western Stock Show and/or to applicants from rural communities in Colorado and Wyoming; must agree to practice in a rural community in Colorado or Wyoming for a minimum of two years following graduation.

Nursing major, senior; preference given to a student demonstrating effort to qualify graduating with Honors, and/or show successful involvement in health care or related service (volunteer or paid) in the past 3-5 years; show leadership roles in campus or community organizations.
