Administrative Assistant of the Year Award

In 2007-08 the NHS Dean’s Office instated the NHS Administrative Assistant of the Year Award. Those eligible for nomination are NHS administrative support staff (both classified and exempt) that have been in their position for at least one year, have been nominated by NHS faculty, administration, staff, and/or students, and have not received the award in the last five years. Nominees can be nominated by more than one person. The recipient of this award will be an individual who:

• Shows concern for and helpfulness to others
• Has pride in his/her job
• Consistently exhibits excellent job performance
• Performs actions above and beyond the call of duty
• Adheres to safety procedures
• Has a cooperative attitude
• Displays university involvement

Upon receiving the nomination forms, the NHS Dean’s Office will conduct a review and select up to three finalists. One winner will be selected from the finalists. Qualities for which individuals will be selected are outstanding service, superior performance, exceptional efficiency, integrity and dedication to UNC and to fellow employees. We encourage nominators to give much time and attention to the form. More than one nominator may sign the form and additional comments and information is encouraged.

The three finalists will be announced by the end of the fall 2008 semester. The award recipient will be announced at the NHS College-wide Meeting and Awards Ceremony in spring 2009 . Along with recognition, the award recipient will receive an allocation of $200 to be used for work-related professional development.
