Dr. George H. Junne

Dr. George H. Junne, Jr., is an associate professor of Africana Studies and is the department chair. Some of his academic interests include Blacks in the American West, Blacks in the Civil War and African eunuchs of the Ottoman Empire. His is also a summertime paleontologist, working with the University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology for over twenty years. He has received the outstanding teaching award in Arts and Sciences for the 2003-2003 academic year. He has been on all but one of the buffalo hunts.
