The Administrative Systems area...

  • develops, installs and maintains computer software and databases that support the University's core administrative processes and information needs,
  • schedules and supports the Production cycle for all daily, weekly, monthly and annual processing of University data,
  • provides general standards and guidelines for administrative software and
  • consults on departmental software development, installation, and maintenance.


Administrative Systems is comprised of three teams:

Applications/Programming – develops and maintains a variety of applications and processes that service the university community, including batch and online processes and web applications.

Database Administration – administers and supports IDMS, Oracle and SQL Server databases according to customer needs. The team supports IT Enterprise Application development teams and individual area projects that collect and maintain university data.

Systems and Operations – provides data processing and system monitoring support for IBM mainframe and NT systems and applications. Systems Services performs upgrades and maintenance to all mainframe systems. Operational Services monitors processing cycles and backups; responds to customer requests; and operates printers, tape devices and output finishing equipment. Operational Services also operates and interacts with all scheduling packages directing batch processing.
