What to do	When	And don't forget
Declare IDLA Major AND Elementary Licensure. Sign up for IDLA Listserv.	Yesterday :)	Make sure to visit theIDLA's advising center You will be assigned a PTEP faculty advisor. See PTEP Advising Resources
Take EDFE 110, Initial PTEP Application, a Checkpoint Course	Semester before taking EDEL 350.	Mind the fingerprinting fairs and TB testing days
Take EDFE 120, Full Admission to PTEP Application, a Checkpoint Course	Semester before the Literacy Block	FIll out the request for Literacy Block placement TBA
Register for EDEL 451/452 and any other classes you need.	Semester before Literacy Block	The Literacy block schedule is available through UNC schedule. Print out and read Literacy Practicum Handbook
Take EDFE 130, Student Teaching Applicaciton, a Checkpoint Course.	Semester before Student Teaching Block	Make sure to complete the on-line request for placement as a part of the course (you can ccess it only through Blackboard).
Print out and read Block II Handbook and the Thematic Unit Rubric	First week of Student Teaching	See Block II Schedule (old program, EDEL 470/490 only) EDEL 454 Handbook
Read Licensure Information page; follow instructions to apply for liensure.	Two weeks before the end of your last semester.	Do not procrastinate: you are dealing with state agencies. It may take time to process your application.
