College of Education and Behavioral Studies Editorial Work
The College of Education and Behavioral Studies faculty members embrace the teacher/scholar model in which excellence in teaching is enhanced by scholarship and service. Faculty members publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences. In addition to their own research agenda, faculty actively mentor students and classroom teachers in conducting original research. The supervision of dissertations and theses affords faculty members further opportunities for sharing research ideas and for challenging current theories and practice. Faculty members are constantly aware of the reciprocal nature of the teacher/scholar model; scholarship informs teaching and teaching provides new ideas and questions for continued scholarship.
It is incumbent that the College of Education and Behavioral Studies be involved in the dissemination of research by providing a variety of forums for the exchange of information and opinion on theory, research, and practice. Education journals provide one such forum where research conclusions can be studied critically, new thinking stimulated, and directions for future research discovered. The College is pleased to support faculty members who are contributing to the scholarship of their field by serving as editors, as associate editors, and as members of the editorial and advisory boards of peer-reviewed journals.
