The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is committed to the inclusion of topics on diversity into teacher preparation programs. We believe that it is critical for teacher candidates to have knowledge and understanding of issues pertinent to diversity. Native American Innovative Leadership Program (NAIL)
The University of Northern Colorado (summer 2005) was awarded a grant through the Office of Indian Education (OIE), designed for 35 Native American teachers from any tribe who wish to advance their career in leadership. The program will enable future leaders to address the critical needs of students in school with large populations of Native American students.
