UNC offers two Graduate level Teacher Endorsement Programs:

Bilingual Education
Endorsement
The Bilingual Education Endorsement Program is offered for the Elementary,
Middle school and Secondary levels. It was created to help teachers
serve the biliteracy skills of students in their classrooms, and to
address the critical shortage of Linguistically Diverse: Bilingual teachers
throughout the state of Colorado. This program requires the completion
of 21 semester hours.
Admission Requirements:
Admission to UNC's Graduate School
Have elementary, middle, or secondary education licensure or enrollment
in a licensure program
Pass Spanish Proficiency Exam
Courses | The program requires the completion of 21 semester hours. The courses include:

- EDLD604

- SPAN 555*
- EDRD 620**

Teaching English as a Second or
other Language Endorsement Program
The TESOL program was created to help teachers serve
the growing number of students with limited English proficiency in their
classrooms, and to address the critical shortage of Linguistically Diverse:
ESL teachers throughout the state of Colorado. This program is offered
for elementary, secondary and high school teachers. The TESOL program
requires the completion of 18-21 semester hours. After the completion
of the program, students must pass the ESL PLACE test to apply for appropriate
endorsement in Colorado.
Admission Requirements:
Admission to UNC's Graduate School
Have elementary, middle, or secondary education licensure or enrollment
in a licensure program
Familiarity with a second language.
