Colorado Society of School Psychologists award a Northern Colorado Alumni "2007-2008 School Psychologist of the Year"

More Recent Events

This is an exciting time for school psychology. Employment opportunities abound both in the public schools and in faculty positions at many universities. Employment opportunities also exist in non-traditional settings (e.g., community agencies). In fact, recently many positions in school psychology have gone unfilled. Consider these positions and the fact that our doctoral program is approved by the American Psychological Association and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the Ed.S. program is approved by NASP.

A great  variety of opportunities exists in the School of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education. Indeed, a hallmark of training in Professional Psychology is diversity. The School offers a number of degrees (M.A., Ed.S., Ph.D., Psy.D.) in a variety of areas (e.g., Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education and Supervision). This blend provides students with outstanding freedom for study and research--freedom which is not readily available at most universities. The Programs in School Psychology view schooling as a lifelong process and emphasize some popular yet distinctive psychological approaches (e.g., consultation, play therapy, clinical neuropsychology, family therapy).

Thank you for considering school psychology at the University of Northern Colorado.
