Recruitment Component

The Cèsar Chàvez Cultural Center's recruitment component seeks to complement and support University-wide efforts toward an increased recruitment and enrollment rate for all students, with a focused emphasis on the Latino/Hispanic student.

The Cesar Chavez Cultural Center engages in several recruitment efforts, including:

  • Conveying UNC/CCCC information to identified high schools and community colleges with a significant Latino/Hispanic enrollment.
  • Hosting on-campus visits for identified high schools, college bound programs, and community colleges with a significant Latino/Hispanic student enrollment, in an effort to personally contact perspective UNC students.
  • Corresponding with interested and admitted Latino/Hispanic students.
  • Offering financial aid workshops, in conjunction with UNC's Office of Student Financial Resources, in an effort to support and encourage the timely completion and mailing of required forms by the target priority deadline date (February 14 - sweetheart day).
  • Participation in UNC's Discover Orientation program and UNC Preview Days.
  • Participation in outreach contacts as an educational and cultural resource to UNC, K-12 schools, and the local community regarding issues impacting the Latino/Hispanic community.
