Graduation
The Cèsar Chàvez Cultural Center works
toward complementing UNC's efforts to increase the graduation of all students,
with a specific focus on the Latino/Hispanic student.
The CCCC provides support to students in the way of:
- Access to internship information and job listings/career
fairs/employment opportunities housed in the CCCC Resource Room
- UNC & Beyond: Career Development Workshop series,
facilitated in conjunction with UNC's Career Services Center and other
UNC programs.
- Ongoing correspondence with self-identified Latino/Hispanic
students, primarily through The Horizons newsletter, produced for and
by students.
- The CCCC's Annual Academic Excellence Award
Banquet, held as part of the CCCC 5 de Mayo series of events, and in
conjunction with UNC Academic Excellence Week in April. This event allows
the UNC community to recognize and honor the academic achievements and
accomplishments of students having a cumulative grade point average
of 3.5/3.75 or better for undergraduate/graduate students respectively.
