Goal Statement

Our goal is to extend, develop and enhance support systems contributing to the success of all students, with a focused emphasis on the Latino/Hispanic student, by implementing various efforts and programs which are designed to promote academic, educational, social, and cultural achievement.

Continued and ongoing enhancement to technology by way of 5 PC compatible and 2 Macintosh computers, including 2 PC's with Spanish language software, and by providing support to students in accessing electronic services via e-mail and Internet.

Professional development and skill development opportunities, including information about conferences, seminars, the Latino Leadership Academy, and information about student groups and organizations.

Access to informal professional and personal mentoring and counseling by the CCCC professional staff and students.

Consistent correspondence, specifically with self-identified Latino/Hispanic students, primarily through the student produced newsletter: The Horizons

And one of the highlights of the academic year: the CCCC's Annual Academic Excellence Award Banquet, held as part of the CCCC 5 de Mayo series of events, and in conjunction with UNC Academic Excellence Week in April.
