Testing Services
Career Services is the authorized test center for University of Northern Colorado. Various fees are assessed depending on the test being taken. Specific tests available through the center include, but are not limited to:
- American College Test (ACT) college entrance exam
- ACT Residual - college entrance exam restricted to UNC candidates
- Certified Health Education Specialist Exam (CHES) assesses aspects of responsibilities and related competencies in health education
- College Level Examination Program (CLEP) college credit by examination
- General Education Development (GED) high school certification equivalence
- Graduate Record Exam (GRE) graduate school entrance exam - Subject test only
- Independent Study Exams & Correspondence Exams
- Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) graduate law school entrance exam
- MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) assists students in determining their personality type(s)
- Miller Analogies Test (MAT) graduate school entrance exam
- National League of Nursing Exam (NLN) credit by examination
- Personality, Aptitude and Interest Assessments MBTI, SII
- Praxis II professional assessments for beginning teachers
- Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT) college entrance exam
- SII(Strong Interest Inventory) assists students in choosing a major/career.
- Strengths Quest - A web based assessment that reveals your top five themes of talent

ACT (American College Testing)
National Exam.
Freshman entrance requirement; $30 fee; $14.50 additional
fee for writing exam.
Scores Available in four weeks. CODE # 0502.

ACT RESIDUAL
Institutional Test only
Available to students who missed the national date and want to enter UNC the
next semester; $47 fee, payable to Career Services. Referrals from Admissions. ONLY for
potential UNC enrollees. Sixty day retest waiting period. Scores available in
five days.

CLEP (College Level Examination Program)
By Appointment: Offering credit by exam; general and subject
tests; $15 registration fee payable to Career Services at time of
registration (fee is non-refundable).
$65 test fee to CLEP payable day of exam. Retest
after six months. CODE #4074

GED (General Educational Development)
Individuals desiring a High School Diploma; $85 fee payable to Career
Services: $20 retest fee. Requirements: Colorado Resident; picture ID; must be
17 years old. Cannot have received a High School Diploma. Five timed tests. Scores
available in three weeks.
- GED tests are by appointment only. Tests are administered at the University Center - Career Services; Testing Room (Room 2166), and take 7 hours and 8 minutes to complete.

GRE (Graduate Record Exam)
SUBJECT test only -
National graduate level test, $130 fee payable to ETS-GRE for Subject
exams. Scores available in 6 weeks. GENERAL TEST ONLY OFFERED AT CBT
CENTERS.

LSAT (Law School Admission Test)
Required of Law School applicants. $123 fee payable to Law Services.
No
walk-ins. Scores available in 5 weeks. CODE #9060.

Required by graduate schools. $80 fee payable to Career Services. Scores
available in four weeks. Must have a re-test admission ticket to retest. CODE

- MAT tests are by appointment only. Tests are administered at the University Center - Career Services Testing Room (Room 2166) and take 50 minutes to complete.

MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator)
Assists students in determining their personality type(s). $16 fee for
UNC students. $13 fee for classes.
- MBTI tests are by appointment and approval of career counselor only. Tests are administered at the University Center - Career Services Testing Room (Room 2166) and take 35 minutes to complete.

NLN (National League for Nursing)
$70 fee prepaid to Career Services. Scores available
in four - five weeks. May retake only
once.
- NLN tests are by appointment only. Tests are administered at the University Center - Career Services Testing Room (Room 2166) and take 3 hours to complete.

PRAXIS (Professional Assessments for Beginning Teachers)
National Test. Assessments for State K-12 teacher licensure. $80 per
