Career FairsYou are invited to attend UNC's On-campus Career Fairs. UNC holds six career fairs annually where employers can connect with highly competitive and quality students, alumni, and community members. Fall Job & Internship Fair: Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 10 am - 3 pm, University Center Ballrooms. Business and Liberal Arts students and alumni interested in the business world will attend this event. Natural and Health Sciences Job & Internship Fair: Wednesday, February 11, 2009, 10 am - 3 pm, University Center Ballrooms. Students from the College of Natural and Health Sciences, as well as students majoring in psychology and sociology will attend this event. We had over 550 students attend our 2005 Natural and Health Sciences Fair, thus proving to be an excellent time to source professional candidates and meet faculty and staff from our campus. Camp Days/Recreation Fair: Wednesday, February 11, 2009, 10 am - 3 pm, University Center Ballrooms. Students looking for summer employment at summer camps across the United States and those looking for recreation employment and internship opportunities will attend this event. The Recreation program has been a pioneer in the design and development of professional recreation curricula at the undergraduate level since it was established in 1964. A student may earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, preparing the student to assume entry-level leadership roles in municipal, youth, commercial, non-profit, outdoor, and therapeutic settings. The Recreation program is designed to provide the student with leadership and mid-management skills as well as concepts and theories applicable to a variety of employment settings. Spring Job & Internship Fair: Thursday, February 26, 2009, from 10 am - 3 pm, University Center Ballrooms. Business and Liberal Arts students, alumni, along with community members interested in the business world will attend this event. We had over 1,000 students, alumni and community members attend our 2005 Spring Job & Internship Fair, thus proving to be an excellent time to source professional candidates and meet faculty and staff. Since the University of Northern Colorado is partnering with the Greeley/Weld Chamber of commerce, Aims Community College, and The Greeley Tribune, we anticipate the attendee numbers to increase. The Monfort College of Business is one of just six undergraduate-only programs in the U.S. to hold AACSB accreditation in Business and Accounting. The Business program is the only one in Colorado to receive the Colorado Commission for Higher Education's Program on Excellence (2000) distinction. UNC Business students scored in the top 10 percent on a nationwide business exam (ETS Field Achievement Exam). In addition, the college also had all-time best performances on this exam in three specific areas: top 1 percent in quantitative business analysis, top 1 percent in legal and social and top 1 percent in economics. Criminal Justice Internship & Job Fair: Thursday, February 26, 2009, 10 am - 3 pm, University Center Ballrooms. Students and alumni from the Criminal Justice Program will be in attendance. UNC's Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice includes an examination of major criminal justice issues, juvenile delinquency, corrections and criminal law with the possibility for an internship experience with a social agency. Graduates with this emphasis are prepared for knowledgeable and productive citizenship roles; have an understanding of the criminal justice system; and have knowledge and skills appropriate for careers in law enforcement, the court system or corrections. Teacher Employment Days: Thursday, March 26 & Friday, March 27, 2009, 8 am - 5 pm, Butler-Hancock Gymnasium. In 2005, more than 1,000 teacher candidates from 34 states and three countries participated. Education majors will attend this event.
