September 10: Pilates101 - Join Ronya Legge, Certified Pilates Instructor, in this pratical and very "hands-on" seminar. Learn the basics of Pilates, as well as introductory poses, breathing and postural alignment. Pilates is not just a form of exercise, it is a way of life - how can it change yours?

September 17: Achieving a Healthy Body Image - Psychologist Meredith Cohn, Ph.D, along with Kim Wilcox, Interim Director of the UNC Counseling Center, will discuss healthy and supportive ways to achieve a healthy body image. This seminar will debunk many societal stereotypes, as well as examine what "healthy" actually is.

September 24: Female Friendly Fitness - Girl POWER has new meaning at the UNC Recreation Center! Discover the best way to make the most of youur workouts. We will be busting female training myths, discussing gym lingo, learning new workouts and touring the Recreation Center in this FEMALE ONLY seminar. Lead by UNC Certified Personal Trainers.

October 1: Dealing With Difficult Relationships - Join Steve Quackenbush from the UNC Counseling Center and learn how to manage a physically, emotionally or sexually abusive relationship, as well as how to support a friend.

October 8: Women to Women; Breast Cancer Awareness - Join Mary Sheid from Summit View Medical Commons as she sheds light on this very real danger. Worldwide, Breast Cancer is the second most common type of cancer, and in the United States, 1 in 8 women will develop invasive Breast Cancer. This informative seminar will discuss the signs and symptoms of Breast Cancer, how to prevent it, screening methods and treatment options.

October 18: Grief and Loss - Grief is an experience that each and every one of us will encounter. Join Ann Price as she not only educates us in understanding the grief process, but shows us meaningful and practical ways to help ourselves and others.

October 22: Anatomy of Fitness - It's time to take your training to the next level. Find out about advanced strength and cardiovascular training techniques, while also learning more about kinesiology, physiology and anatomy. Presented by UNC Certified Personal Trainers.

October 29: Going Green - Interested in "Going Green?" Being environmental isn't just a new trend; it's a belief that we have the power to truly change the planet through our own efforts. This seminar will provide economic and inventive new information to help you not only save money, but save the planet.

November 5: Targeting the Core - It's time to get to the CORE of the matter. Discover what the core is all about, including the importance of muscular balance, injury prevention and training myths. This interactive seminar will not only educate you, but will also take you through fun and innovative ways to train your "power-house." Lead by UNC Certified Personal Trainers.

November 12: Relaxation Experimentation - Learn about various relaxation techniques you can use to reduce the stress in your life. Experience for yourself the benefits of guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation and breathing techniques.
