Roma

Roma's wins again in a hard fought game. The game was tied with about 7 minutes to go when Roma's experience took over, and their shooters got hot. The Funk couldn’t take advantage of a few chances to keep the game close as well as going ice cold from the field down the stretch. The final score was 72-53.

Premature Shooters
The shooters jumped out to an early league and never gave it up. The height advantage was a huge factor in the game. The White Wonders tallest guy was about 6 foot 1 inches compared to the two 6 foot 6 plus players on the Shooters. The Final score was 57-45

Wally Appelhans
In a tight back and fourth game the Wally Appelhans were able to take advantage of key situations to cool down the Heaters. When the game was tight the Appelhans would use their deep bench to tire their opponent. The Heaters played well but looked they could have used some subs by the end of the game. The final was 53 to 49. We do not have a team picture for the Corec Champions. If you have one please email it to intramural sports.
Women's (Excel)
Your Mom
Your mom stopped the dominance of So Co by playing tough defense and hitting timely shots. This seemed to be a true David versus Goliath with how So Co ran over opponents all year long like the New England Patriots did in the NFL. Yet just like the Patriots an undefeated season was ruined in the championship. The spoilers were Your Mom. The final Score was 32-25.
Slam Dunk Contest
The dunk contest saw 8 contestants slam home their best dunks over three rounds. When it got to the finals we had Sam McKinley square off against the 2006 Slam Dunk winner Matt Dunnsmoor. Both contestants had two dunks to prove their case for the 2008 championship. After the dust settled Sam McKinley narrowly defeated Matt Dunsmoor. McKinley's defining dunk was when he pulled a young lady out of the crowd placed her by the hoop, then proceeded to jump over her completely throwing the ball down. Dunnsmoor's best dunk in the finals came when he and a buddy jumped at the same time and Dunnsmoor grabbed the ball out of the hands of his buddy and slammed it home.
