The Taste of A/PASS
The Annual Taste of A/PASS is held during the first
or second month of fall semester to introduce ourselves to the University
and Greeley community. Taste of A/PASS is a free buffet-style dinner
featuring ten to fifteen different Asian and Pacific Islander dishes
to demonstrate the uniqueness of the different cultures within these
populations.
Asian/Pacific American Celebration
Throughout the year we provide cultural programs
for the whole university community. Our keynote celebration takes
place in April/May and consists of a couple of weeks worth of programming
called the Asian/Pacific American Celebration. During past celebrations
we have had Amy Tan, author of The Joy Luck Club, Comedienne Margaret
Cho, Storyteller Glen Grant, Public Speaker and Activist Eliot Chang,
Acclaimed poet Lawson Inada, and the Denver Taiko Drummers as some
of our more popular guests. An Asian Film Fest is also featured
during Spring semester. Along with the Asian/Pacific American Celebration
there is the popular, Annual Hawai'i Club Luau. We hope you will
attend and experience some of the culture through the various programs
offered. And do not forget that a majority of our programs are free
to everyone! For a current listing of events please visit the events
calendar.
