Car Rental Agencies

• Under the new state agreement there is no longer a primary rental car provider for the state. AVIS, Budget, Advantage Rent-a-Car and Enterprise can all be used as vendors. Enterprise has included damage waiver within the rate on these specific vehicles as an additional benefit to State organizations, such as UNC. Employees of UNC can use Enterprise for personal use and they will honor the states rate agreement for those rentals.
• The University requires the rental of a compact size vehicle (class B) unless justification has been authorized in advance of the travel, or a compact size vehicle is substituted for the convenience of the rental agency. The U S Bank Visa credit card should still be used on all rentals because the credit card provides primary collision damage with the exception of 15 passenger vans and trucks.
