Sample Syllabi

Syllabi are constantly changing, and as soon as they are posted they are out of date. However, this is a good resource to give an idea of how the course has been taught in the past, and can shed some light on how you may create your syllabus.

Additionally, it is suggested that you try to contact the instructors of the courses with which your UNC FYE 108 course is linked. This will give you additional avenues of creating a syllabus that helps students see connections amongst their courses, and it will assist you in assigning due dates for major projects so that you do not assign major projects at the same time as the other professors.

We are currently reviewing our syllabi with each UNC school that has a focused UNC FYE 108 course. This allows the school to drive the context in which we teach, which helps students see the connections between their UNC FYE 108 course and their major area of study. Because of this initiative, sample syllabi may change to reflect what we learn in those meetings.
